The ethics surrounding the use of modern artificial intelligence are highly individual. We do not seek to make a claim about the moral implications of how AI is used in society. Instead, we offer you a list of the ways AI will and will not be used by us. You can judge whether you are comfortable with our approach. These rules apply to us and any subcontractors we use.
We will NOT use AI for
- Any communication with a client or other stakeholder
- Any website copy
- Making or receiving payment
- For the production of art or imagery beyond basic shapes
We currently use AI to assist with
- Rapid prototyping
- Code review
- Initial research
- Documenting our codebase
We will never
- Input client private details or confidential information into an AI
- Permit AI to run code on a client device or computer
- Impersonate another brand or person
- Deploy code that hasn't first been inspected by a human
- Install a customer service chatbot on our site or yours
We acknowledge the present risk of further harm caused by intensifying energy use globally driven by AI development is likely delaying climate action. While we cannot control where big tech sources their electricity, we can promise our servers and systems are powered by 100% renewable energy backed by battery storage.
